बच्चों के मन में डर क्यों.....?

छुटपन से ही छोटे-छोटे बच्चे भी डर जाते हैं। बच्चे की समझ में नहीं आता। वह बड़े प्रेम से आया है, माँ की साड़ी खींच रहा है, और माँ झिड़क देती है कि दूर हट! उसे पता ही नहीं कि माँ अभी नाराज है, पिता से झगड़ा हुआ है, या बर्तन टूट गया है, या आज रेडियो बिगड़ गया है, या दूध वाला नहीं आया- हजार मुश्किलें हैं। इस बच्चे को तो इसका कुछ पता नहीं है- इस माँ की अड़चन का। और माँ को कुछ पता नहीं है कि बच्चे को उसकी अड़चन का कोई भी पता नहीं है। वह तो बड़े प्रेम से आया था, साड़ी पकड़कर एक प्रेम का निवेदन करने आया था और झिटक दिया।बच्चा सहम गया। अब दोबारा जब वह साड़ी के पास आएगा तो हाथ में भय होगा। सोचेगा दो बार, दस बार- पकड़ना साड़ी कि नहीं पकड़ना! पहले माँ के चेहरे को पहचान लो। पता नहीं इनकार हो जाए। क्योंकि तब बड़ा दुःख सालता है, घाव हो जाता है। जब तुम्हारे प्रेम को कोई इनकार कर दे, तो इससे बड़ी कोई पीड़ा संसार में दूसरी नहीं।
वह बड़े प्रेम से आया था कि पिता की गोद में बैठ जाएगा। लेकिन पिता ने आज कीमती वस्त्र पहने हैं, वे किसी शादी-विवाह में जा रहे हैं। अब यह उनकी सब क्रीज बिगाड़ दे रहा है। इसे कुछ पता नहीं कि क्रीज भी होती है, कि शादी-विवाह में क्रीज बिगाड़कर नहीं जाना होता। इसे कुछ पता नहीं है। बाप ने झिटकार दिया। कहा कि दूर हट, खेल; अभी पास मत आ। इसकी कुछ समझ में नहीं आता कि क्या मामला है! कब पास जाना, कब नहीं जाना? कब प्रेम का निवेदन स्वीकार होगा, कब अस्वीकार होगा, कुछ पक्का नहीं है। बच्चा नियम नहीं बना पाता। दुविधा खड़ी हो जाती है। बच्चा भयभीत हो जाता है। और जब अपनों से इतना डर है तो परायों का तो कहना ही क्या! जब अपनों पर भी भरोसा नहीं किया जा सकता कि हर घड़ी प्रेम मिलेगा, तो दूसरों का तो क्या भरोसा!फिर बच्चा बड़ा होता है; स्कूल जाता है। वहाँ कोई अपना नहीं है। शिक्षक अपना नहीं, संगी-साथी अपने नहीं, वह सिकुड़ा हुआ है। धीरे-धीरे बड़ी दुनिया में प्रवेश करता है, वह सिकुड़ जाता है। अब वह डरता है। अब उसको भय है कि वह किसी के पास प्रेम का निवेदन करे और वह कह दे, हटो भी! अपनी शक्ल आईने में देखो!तो इससे बेहतर है, अपमान से तो बेहतर है इस उपाय को भी कभी न करना। चुप रहो। कभी कोई प्रेम करेगा तो शायद खुद आ जाएगा।लेकिन दूसरे की भी यही मुसीबत है। वह भी डरा हुआ है। लोग प्रेम करने को पैदा हुए हैं, और प्रेम से भयभीत हैं। लोग बिना प्रेम के जीवन की गहनता को न जान पाएँगे, और प्रेम से भयभीत हैं। लोग बढ़ना चाहते हैं, प्रेम करना चाहते हैं, लेकिन डर है अस्वीकार का। चोट लगेगी। उससे बेहतर अकेले जी लेना है। कम से कम किसी को चोट देने का मौका तो नहीं दिया; अपमान तो नहीं हुआ।इसलिए तुमसे कहता हूँ कि चट्टान से, वृक्ष से- वे तुम्हें इनकार न करेंगे। और वे उतने ही प्रेम के लिए आतुर हैं जितना कोई और। और उनसे तुम्हें कभी चोट न पहुँचेगी।
